Creating online design that has a iPad feel is not difficult. You could use flash, but then you're not iPad compliant. Thankfully there is a wonderful world of jQuery. Even if you're not the backend code type of person, you'll want to get your feet wet and dive-in to these waters. The little shelf display model pictured above was the perfect subject for this jQuery 360-degree rotation plugin called Reel.
The Ping Pong Valley Railroad has undergone some major changes. The main change has been the move from N-scale to On30. On30 is a much bigger scale to work with. Which translates in to greater detail. Pictured above is a weather little critter that the Railroad executives (that would be me) wanted to show on their train blog. The most difficult part of presenting a 360-degree view is the number of images needed for smooth transitions. 36 pics seems to work. The other key is the pivot point moving on that point at 10-degree intervals. This process also has an effect on the smoothness of your image. All the images are then compiled into one. The actual code is simple. Then you ready to wow you audience, take them where they only thought the iPad could go.
