Hunting for antiques can be rewarding. The pay-off comes when you find that special piece. Anita and I found the above image at a little shop in Niles, CA. I merged the photo with a scan of an lod weathered book we picked up in San Juan Bautista, CA. Its a good day of hunting if I find elements I can find in my designs.
Searching for a useful jQuery or Flash plugin can be similar to searching for antiques. It can be hard work. If you find what you're looking for you keep your fingers crossed that it can be modified to fit your design needs. Today the big find was this sweat jQuery effect I stumbled on at Tutorialzine. It's called "Apple-like Retina Effect With jQuery." You might have seen, or built similar effects in flash. More and more I'm finding a lot of useful jQuery plugins to use in my web design. With this plugin you can zoom in and have a closer look at the image. What an interesting bunch. I can just hear them now. The guy in the middle is saying, "Give me a hammer, I'll fix it."
