What iz this?

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "by extension, the term poster is used to denote a paper panel printed for display as a novelty or as a work of art." In this case, it's nothing more than an excersize, call it my own little special project. It is a creative design outlet for me to take ideas that pop into my head and make them into posters. As a designer I believe it is important to always try to grow, and explore new techiques that enrich your professional work.

Poster a Week #21
Monday, 05 October 2009 00:00

1927_100Like I've said before, those who know me know that I like old trains and vintage baseball. So it should be no surprise to see a few more posters on these subjects. This week’s poster commemorates a baseball game played 82 years ago. The Pacific Coast League's San Francisco Seals were barnstorming after their season had ended. In mid October of 1927 they went to San Mateo, Ca to show local fans a thing or two about the professional game of baseball. While they managed to win the game, San Mateo's semi pro team almost embarrassed the heavy hitters from San Francisco. The feature star was San Mateo's pitcher “Genial” Gene Camozzi. Gene only allowed the Seals 3 hits. 1927 PCL MVP, Lefty O'Doul only managed one hit on the day.
